# Batocera ROMs not showing / game list not updating after adding files

You copied ROM files to your Batocera machine via the network share or a USB drive, but EmulationStation shows no games — or still shows only the old list from before you added files.

Batocera does not automatically detect new files while it is running. Two root causes account for most cases:

Game list not refreshed — EmulationStation requires a manual scan trigger after any new ROMs are added. No scan = no new games, even if the files are in exactly the right place.
ROMs placed in the wrong subfolder — Batocera expects system-specific subdirectories under SHARE/roms/. Files at the root of the share are ignored by the scanner.

Less common causes: USB drive not auto-imported (unsupported filesystem), network share not connected (Samba off or same-network issue), or the system is hidden in the UI because it previously had zero games.
