# Dolphin Wiimote not connecting on PC — Bluetooth setup guide (DolphinBar / native / emulated)

Connecting a real Wiimote to Dolphin on PC is the single most-asked Dolphin setup question after BIOS/firmware. There are three distinct paths depending on your hardware — and they require completely different setup steps.

You are hitting one of these:

Wiimote won't pair with your PC's built-in Bluetooth, or it pairs but Dolphin doesn't detect it
"Could not find any usable Bluetooth adapters" or "Wii Remote not found" in Dolphin
You have a DolphinBar (Mayflash) but Dolphin isn't seeing it or the Mode button isn't working
You don't have a real Wiimote and want to use a regular USB/Xbox/PS gamepad instead
Wiimote connects for a few seconds then disconnects, or sync resets every time Dolphin closes

Why this is complicated: Dolphin bypasses Windows Bluetooth to talk to the Wiimote directly at the HID layer. Most built-in laptop/PC Bluetooth chipsets (especially Intel and Qualcomm) don't expose the raw HID access Dolphin needs — so even if Windows shows the Wiimote as "connected," Dolphin can't use it. You need either the DolphinBar (easiest), a compatible Bluetooth adapter, or to skip real Wiimotes entirely.

Re-test after following each step.
