# DuckStation Saves Lost or Not Working — Memory Card vs Save State Fix

My DuckStation PS1 saves have disappeared, won't load, or I'm confused about the difference between save states and memory card saves. Either my game progress is gone after updating DuckStation or reinstalling it, or my save states no longer work but I need to recover my in-game save. How do I fix this?
