# NoxPlayer won't open, runs slow, or crashes — performance fix

NoxPlayer refuses to open, gets stuck on the loading screen, shows a black screen, or runs games at unplayable frame rates even on a PC that should handle them.

You are hitting one of these:

NoxPlayer opens then closes immediately — the splash screen appears and disappears, or nothing opens at all
Stuck at "Loading NoxPlayer..." forever — the loading bar freezes partway or never advances past the Android boot logo
Black screen after NoxPlayer loads — the interface appears but every game shows a black window
"Virtualization technology is not enabled" warning inside NoxPlayer's performance settings
NoxPlayer opens fine but games lag badly — stuttering, very low FPS, or audio crackling even on a mid-range GPU
NoxPlayer crashes during gameplay — sudden closure or a frozen window requiring Task Manager to end it

Why this happens: NoxPlayer runs Android in a virtual machine that requires CPU virtualization (Intel VT-x or AMD-V). When Hyper-V or Windows Memory Integrity is on, those claim the virtualization layer exclusively and block NoxPlayer from starting. Performance problems come from three separate sources: NoxPlayer defaulting to a software rendering path when the GPU path fails, the default 1 CPU / 2 GB RAM allocation being undersized for modern games, and background NoxPlayer multi-instance processes eating CPU even when they appear closed.

Work through each fix in order. Most users fix startup failures at step 1 and performance problems at step 2.
