# Ryujinx shut down — what Switch emulator to use instead in 2026

Ryujinx's website and GitHub repository were taken down on October 1, 2024. The project was shut down after Nintendo's legal action, and no official builds are available anymore.

If you are trying to download Ryujinx and the official links are dead, or you have an old install that no longer receives updates, the project is gone and will not return. This article explains what happened and what to use in 2026.

The official site (ryujinx.org) is offline. GitHub repositories were removed.
Ryujinx builds circulating on third-party download sites are unofficial, unsupported, and carry real malware risk. Do not download from these sources.
EmuDesk does not link to or host game dumps, firmware, or console keys. All emulation requires legally dumped content from your own Nintendo Switch.
