Dolphin
Open-source GameCube and Wii emulator for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android — runs the bulk of both libraries in HD with save states, controller remapping, and modern enhancements.
Dolphin is the long-running open-source emulator for the Nintendo GameCube and Wii. It boots the vast majority of both libraries on Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android, with modern conveniences the original consoles never had — internal HD upscaling, save states, controller remapping, texture and shader replacement, and netplay.
On EmuDesk we cover Dolphin from two angles:
Standalone Dolphin — the official build from the Dolphin project. Most setup, performance, and per-game compatibility questions live here.
Dolphin as a RetroArch libretro core — the same engine wrapped for RetroArch. It has its own class of setup issues (Sys folder, core .info file, container formats) because the libretro packaging differs from the standalone app.
Use the linked issues below for symptom-specific fixes. Only use disc images you have legally created from games you own — EmuDesk does not host, link to, or assist in obtaining ROMs or BIOS files.
