Call of Duty Mobile won't launch on GameLoop (stuck on 1.0.53) — TAC / TAS fix
Call of Duty Mobile no longer launching on classic GameLoop is a distribution change after build 1.0.53 — not a corrupt install — so re-downloading or forcing a "repair" only makes it worse. The way to play right now is to install CoDM on the Tenstore Android Connect (TAC) build using the community GameLoopHub helper, then apply a temporary manual keymap (Smart Keymap doesn't work on TAC yet). Do not force-update your classic install.
You open GameLoop, click Call of Duty: Mobile, and nothing works the way it used to — the game refuses to launch, crashes straight back to the GameLoop desktop the moment you force an update, or the store entry behaves as if the game is gone. Your PC is fine, your internet is fine, and PUBG Mobile or other titles still run, so it looks like a corrupt install. It isn't, and re-downloading will not fix it.
Cause: CoD Mobile has moved to a newer Tencent distribution that classic GameLoop can no longer launch. Classic GameLoop's last working CoDM build was 1.0.53 (December 2025); it then missed 1.0.54 (Feb 2026), 1.0.55 (Apr 2026), and 1.0.56 (June 2026). Force-updating the classic client to catch up makes it crash on launch instead of opening. On top of that, GameLoop's Smart Keymap is currently broken for CoDM on both Global and China builds, so even when the game does start, the one-click keymap people relied on does not apply. This is a platform/distribution change on Tencent's side — not a bad ROM, not a damaged install, and not something a reinstall, cache clear, or graphics-backend change can repair.
The game is not discontinued and it is not permanently dead on PC — it now runs through Tencent's newer engine rather than the old GameLoop client. There is currently no confirmed official date for classic GameLoop + Smart Keymap to fully return; anyone posting a specific date is guessing. A real fix is on the way, but until it lands you use one of the routes below to play today.
Not this issue? If CoDM does open but the cursor breaks free or your aim snaps mid-fight, see Aim snaps / cursor breaks free (CTRL mouse-lock bug). If GameLoop hangs at 99% on launch generally, see GameLoop stuck at 99% won't launch.

Stay in the GameLoop family — run CoDM on the new TAC (Tenstore Android Connect) build. This is the closest path to your old setup and works right now.
- Do not force-update or "repair" your classic GameLoop CoDM install — that is the version that crashes on launch. Leave it alone.
- Install CoD Mobile on the Tenstore Android Connect (TAC) build. The community GameLoopHub helper tool installs the game onto TAC for you; follow its install-on-TAC steps rather than fighting the classic client.
- Apply the temporary standard keymap. On TAC, Smart Keymap does not work yet, so you map controls manually — fire, aim, sprint, jump, crouch, scope — using the normal keymap editor. A community standard keymap for TAC has been released as a starting layout you can import and then tweak.
- Launch and confirm: the game boots to the CoDM menu and your manually-mapped keys respond in a practice match.
Trade-off to know: this gets you playing on a GameLoop-style client today, but until Smart Keymap is restored you do the mapping yourself. If you want the most reliable launch instead and don't mind a different store, use S2.

Most reliable launch right now: Tencent App Store (TAS) + the EmuDesk Smart Tool.
- Run CoD Mobile through the Tencent App Store (TAS) build — it is currently the most dependable way to get current CoDM open on Windows.
- Important keymap catch: TAS ships with the CN (China) keymap only. If you play Global, Garena, or VNG, you will load into the match with no working controls until you remap — this surprises a lot of people and looks like the game is broken when it isn't.
- Use the EmuDesk Smart Tool to launch the game and apply a working control layout for your region, instead of launching from the bare store icon. Launching via the tool is also what suppresses the focus-stealing notification behind the CTRL mouse-lock aim-snap bug.
- Confirm controls respond in a practice match before queuing ranked.
solution #1450
Just want to play now on any emulator? Current CoD Mobile still runs on other Android emulators — LDPlayer, BlueStacks, and MEmu have kept up with the newer build. If you don't need GameLoop specifically and don't want to manage TAC/TAS, installing CoDM fresh on one of those is a clean route; expect to set up keymaps there too. (We don't host game binaries — install from each emulator's own official app store.)
What does NOT help — stop trying these: re-downloading or reinstalling CoD Mobile on classic GameLoop, clearing cache, switching rendering backend, or force-updating the classic client (that last one is what causes the launch crash). The block is a distribution change on Tencent's side, so no client-side reinstall fixes it. And don't trust any post claiming a confirmed return date for classic GameLoop + Smart Keymap — none exists yet; bookmark EmuDesk's CoDM-on-GameLoop coverage for the verified update instead.
Note: emulator play of CoD Mobile carries inherent detection/ban risk depending on the build and region — this guide fixes launching and controls, not account safety.
