CODM bullet registration drops over time on AMD CPUs (TAC time-drift fix)

While playing CODM through GameLoop / TAC, shots that visibly hit the target stop registering as kills after 10–20 minutes. The bug is intermittent and gets dramatically worse on AMD Ryzen CPUs:

  • First few matches: shots register normally.
  • After 10–20 minutes of gameplay: 30–60% of shots fail to register damage even at point-blank range.
  • The user's ping looks fine; FPS looks fine; the shots simply don't connect.
  • Restarting the emulator restores normal registration for another 10–20 minutes, then the cycle repeats.

Root cause confirmed by community: modern AMD CPUs experience clock time-drift when the Windows hypervisor / TAC's internal time reference fall out of sync. CODM's anti-cheat shot validation then rejects shots whose timestamps don't fit the server's expected window.

Solutions

solution #523

Enable Hyper-V via Windows Features. Per ӃryptønPsychø's canonical fix that resolves the issue for both M Y T H I C A L and sala7:

  1. Win+R → optionalfeatures
  2. Check Hyper-V, Virtual Machine Platform, and Windows Hypervisor Platform
  3. Apply, reboot.

Hyper-V provides a clock reference TAC can use to stay synced with the host, eliminating the drift. Without it, TAC falls back to its own clock which gradually diverges on AMD machines.

solution #524

Restart the emulator every 30 minutes as a temporary workaround. If you can't enable Hyper-V on your machine (Home edition, BIOS-locked virtualization), restarting the emulator before each ranked match resets the clock drift. This is friction-heavy but gets you through ranked grinds without full-system changes.

solution #525

Use the Smart Tool's Close GameLoop processes button between matches. The Smart Tool kills every TAC subprocess cleanly, which the standard emulator close doesn't always do. Open Smart Tool →
