CODM install stuck at 94% of 2.13 GB via Smart Tool / Play Store

While installing CODM through TAC's Play Store integration or via the Smart Tool's launch flow, the download progress bar reaches 94% of 2.13 GB and stops. The progress bar doesn't move forward; cancelling and retrying produces the same freeze at the same percentage. Reported framing:

"Instalando el CodM desde el playstore con la herramienta GamloopHub la instalación se clavó en 94% de 2,13 Gb, alguna idea que procede?"
"ya intenté de todo y nada, no pasa de 94% es raro, a nadie le pasó? es una instalación nueva de win y no tiene nada, ni programas ni nada"

Symptoms:

  • Progress always stalls at exactly 94% (sometimes 93%, never 95%+).
  • Total expected size is 2.13 GB — matches the CODM Global APK + initial OBB.
  • Reproduces on a clean Windows install with no other software.
  • Reinstalling TAC doesn't help.
  • Same symptom occurs across LD Player community reports for CODM at "94% loading" — possibly shared CDN / endpoint problem.

Per WhyBeKing: "parece algo de red...recuerda que es la mierda de google que no va bien nunca...depende de pais y componente de ordenador." Network-side issue compounded by region-specific Google CDN routing.

Solutions

solution #622

Connect to a US VPN before retrying the install. The 94% mark corresponds to the OBB asset bundle download — that bundle is served from a regional CDN that fails handshake for some country/ISP combinations:

  1. Cancel the current install, close TAC.
  2. Connect to any reputable VPN with a US exit node (Cloudflare WARP works free).
  3. Reopen TAC, restart the install.
  4. The download should now reach 100%.
  5. After install completes, you can disconnect the VPN — gameplay doesn't need it.

solution #623

Switch DNS to Cloudflare 1.1.1.1. Some ISPs (especially in MENA, parts of LATAM) silently throttle Google CDN endpoints. Cloudflare DNS bypasses ISP DNS rewrites:

  1. Install Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 or set DNS manually to 1.1.1.1 in Windows network settings.
  2. Restart TAC, restart the install.

solution #624

Skip Play Store, install via APKPure. If region/DNS fixes don't help, install the CODM APK from a third-party mirror:

  1. On Windows, download the CODM Global APK from apkpure.com. The APK is ~80 MB; the OBB is 2 GB+ separately.
  2. Download the matching OBB file from APKPure or APKMirror.
  3. Drag the APK into the TAC window — installs the app stub.
  4. Use TAC's file manager to copy the OBB to /Android/obb/com.activision.callofduty.shooter/.
  5. Launch CODM — it skips the in-app download because the OBB is already in place.

solution #625

Clear Google Play Services cache inside TAC. Stale Play Services cache can stall downloads at fixed percentages:

  1. In TAC: 4 squares menu → Settings → Apps.
  2. Find "Google Play Services" → Clear cache + Clear data.
  3. Find "Google Play Store" → Clear cache + Clear data.
  4. Restart TAC, retry CODM install — re-sign in to Google when prompted.

solution #626

Verify you have enough Windows disk space. TAC's Android instance is a virtual disk on your Windows drive. Even though CODM is "only" 2.13 GB, TAC needs ~3-4 GB free on the Windows host (temp files + virtual disk expansion). Free up at least 10 GB on your C: drive, retry.
