CODM keymap doesn't work in Battle Royale mode (works in Multiplayer)

Your CODM keymap is applied via Smart Tool and works perfectly in Multiplayer matches. Then you queue into Battle Royale and most of the buttons don't respond — movement still works, but specific BR-only actions (vehicle entry, parachute deploy, ping system, healing items) either don't bind or trigger the wrong action. Reported framing:

"I uploaded a keymap, but the buttons don't work in Battle Royale. If I play on my main account, is there a ban risk or not?" — isaacarchi
"new br keymap is messy btwww" — Fl'/nn (community signal that the latest BR keymap has known issues)

Symptoms:

  • WASD and aim work normally.
  • Reload button works.
  • Vehicle interaction (F key) works inconsistently.
  • Inventory / backpack key bound but does nothing.
  • Healing items (medkits, syringes) inaccessible.
  • Ping system + map open key bound but trigger nothing.

Root cause: CODM's MP and BR modes have completely different on-screen UI layouts. A keymap calibrated for MP's UI positions has buttons in pixel locations that don't correspond to BR's UI. Smart Tool ships separate MP / BR / DMZ keymaps for this reason — using the MP keymap in BR is the most common cause.

Apply the BR-specific keymap before queueing into BR.

  1. Before queueing into BR mode, exit to the CODM main menu.
  2. Open Smart Tool.
  3. In the keymap selection dropdown, switch from MP - Global to BR - Global.
  4. Click Apply Keymap.
  5. Wait for the success log line.
  6. Now queue into BR — buttons should work.

Repeat the swap when switching back to MP. This is friction-heavy but it's how the system works until smart keymap returns for CODM.

Make sure you have the latest BR keymap. Per Fl'/nn's signal that "new br keymap is messy" + leonmaxitv1's response "krypton is working on it":

  1. Go to GameLoopHub Discord.
  2. #en-support-cod-mobile channel.
  3. Use Discord search: filter by ӃryptønPsychø + "BR".
  4. Download the most recent BR keymap .txt file (look for files dated within the last week).
  5. Import via Smart Tool.

BR keymaps need updates after every CODM season patch — the new map (Rebirth Island in Season 4.3) introduced UI changes that older BR keymaps don't account for.

Don't forget DMZ has its own keymap. If you also play DMZ mode, it has a third keymap variant (CODM has 3 mode UIs total). The DMZ keymap is in the same Discord channel. Apply DMZ keymap before queueing DMZ matches.

Add F key as universal interact for missing BR actions. If a specific BR action isn't responding even with the BR keymap applied, manually add F key as a binding via TAC's in-emulator keymap editor:

  1. 4 squares menu → Keyboard & Mouse Settings → Edit Keybinding.
  2. Find the unresponsive on-screen button.
  3. Add F key binding at that position.
  4. Save, restart match.

Per TS✘Alejo: "el que está creado trabaja muy bien si se extraña La tecla F para todo" — F key is the universal fallback when smart keymap is missing.
