solution #2053
update-not-showing (sortOrder=1, isMostHelpful)
**CODM S8 update not showing in GameLoop**
The S8 update may not appear in-game if GameLoop's internal browser cache is stale from the Season 7 build.
1. Close CODM and GameLoop completely.
2. In GameLoop, go to **Settings → Clear Cache**.
3. Reopen GameLoop and launch CODM — the update prompt should appear.
4. If not, open the **My Games** page and click **Update** directly from there.
Still not showing? Try uninstalling the CODM APK inside GameLoop and reinstalling from the GameLoop Game Center. The reinstalled build will already be S8 if installed after the September 3 launch time.

solution #2054
update-stuck (sortOrder=2)
**S8 update stuck or download failed**
Large season updates often stall on launch day when Activision's CDN handles tens of millions of simultaneous downloads. The S8 patch is estimated at 2–4 GB.
1. Pause and resume the download inside the game.
2. Switch to a wired Ethernet connection or a 5 GHz Wi-Fi band.
3. Open Command Prompt (Admin) and run: `ipconfig /flushdns`
4. Restart GameLoop and retry.
If the download fails repeatedly, clear the `/sdcard/Android/data/com.activision.callofduty.shooter/files/downloadpatch/` folder inside GameLoop's virtual storage and start fresh. Do not delete the entire CODM data folder.

solution #2055
crash-force-close (sortOrder=3)
**Crash / force close on launch after S8 update**
Season updates increase memory requirements. GameLoop crashes on launch if RAM allocation is too low, or if the update downloaded with corrupted files.
1. In GameLoop, go to **Settings → Engine Settings → Memory** and set it to at least **4096 MB** (4 GB). On a 16 GB system, 6 GB is safe.
2. Set **Rendering Mode** to DirectX (more stable than OpenGL for S8).
3. Restart GameLoop and launch CODM.
4. If the crash persists after 2–3 restarts: right-click the GameLoop shortcut → **Run as administrator**.

solution #2056
black-screen (sortOrder=4)
**Black screen after S8 update**
Black screens at CODM launch typically occur when GameLoop's hardware-accelerated rendering falls out of sync with the new game build.
1. In GameLoop Settings → Graphics, toggle **Hardware Acceleration** off, then back on.
2. Clear GameLoop cache (**Settings → System → Clear Cache**).
3. If still black: switch rendering engine from OpenGL to DirectX (or vice versa) in GameLoop Settings → Performance.
4. Restart GameLoop.
If the black screen appears mid-game rather than at launch, this is likely a graphics driver issue: update your GPU driver via GeForce Experience (NVIDIA) or AMD Software (AMD) before logging another session.
solution #2057
fps-drops (sortOrder=5)
**FPS drop / low performance after S8**
The S8 balance changes (new Honkai collab assets, class changes, VTOL Jet behaviour changes) can briefly increase rendering load on launch week.
1. Set in-game graphics to **Smooth + High Frame Rate** during the first week — Ultra visuals have higher variance with new assets.
2. In GameLoop Settings → Performance, set **FPS** to 60 (not 90) and **Resolution** to 1280×720 until stable.
3. Enable **Smart Rendering** in GameLoop Settings (reduces GPU load during spectate / lobby screens).
4. If FPS is below 30 consistently: check CPU temperature in Task Manager. Above 90°C means your PC is throttling — clean the cooler or reduce ambient heat.

solution #2058
high-ping (sortOrder=6)
**High ping / lag spikes in S8**
Routing servers are under heavy load on launch week. High ping can appear even on a fast connection.
1. In CODM server select, choose the region closest to you (do not rely on Auto on launch day — CDN routing changes during heavy load).
2. Open GameLoop's built-in **Speed Booster** (bottom-right of the GameLoop window) and enable it for CODM.
3. If ping remains above 80 ms consistently after 3–5 matches, try ExitLag (7-day trial available) with the CODM preset for your region.
4. Disable VPN if active — a VPN that optimises for one game may actively hurt CODM routing.
solution #2059
login-failed (sortOrder=7)
**Login failed / authentication error**
New seasons sometimes invalidate cached authentication tokens, causing "Login Failed" on the account selection screen.
1. Log out of all linked accounts from the CODM login screen.
2. Log in via **Guest** mode first — if Guest works, the game is running fine and only the account token is stale.
3. Log back in with your main account (Facebook, Google, or Activision). The token refreshes on this clean login.
4. If the error code is "Error 103" or similar: CODM's authentication servers are under load — wait 15–20 minutes and retry.

solution #2060
unable-to-connect (sortOrder=8)
**Unable to connect / stuck at "Connecting"**
1. Open Command Prompt (Admin): `ipconfig /flushdns && ipconfig /release && ipconfig /renew`
2. Disable any active VPN or proxy.
3. In GameLoop, close CODM, go to **Settings → Network**, and toggle the **Game Accelerator** off then back on.
4. If none of the above: this is a server-side queue during peak launch hours — check the Activision status page for server maintenance notices.

solution #2061
no-sound (sortOrder=9)
**No sound / audio not working after S8**
1. In GameLoop, go to **Settings → Sound** and re-select your output device from the dropdown (it sometimes resets after a game update).
2. In Windows, check **Settings → System → Sound → App volume and device preferences** and confirm GameLoop is not muted.
3. Restart GameLoop with your headphones or speakers already plugged in (before GameLoop opens).
solution #2062
keymapping-reset (sortOrder=10)
**Keymapping reset after S8 update**
S8 adds new control contexts (Honkai event UI, updated VTOL Jet controls). GameLoop may reset TAC keymaps when it detects new input hooks.
1. In GameLoop, open the **Keymapping** editor for CODM.
2. Click **Import** and load your saved profile file (`.kmf`).
3. If you do not have a saved `.kmf`: re-map manually. The S8 TAC layout is unchanged from S7 — your previous settings are still valid.
4. Check the **Jet Boost** key specifically — the wall-run removal means the Jet Boost key now only triggers forward boost; some keymaps bound wall-run to a separate key that may display as unbound.
solution #2063
controller-not-detected (sortOrder=11)
**Controller / gamepad not detected after S8**
1. Unplug and replug the controller after GameLoop and CODM are fully loaded.
2. In GameLoop → Settings → Game Controls, enable **Xinput Support** if using an Xbox controller.
3. If using a DualSense/DualShock: install DS4Windows and configure it to emulate Xinput before launching GameLoop.
4. Restart GameLoop after reconnecting the controller — GameLoop detects controllers at launch, not mid-session.
solution #2064
honkai-collab-event (sortOrder=12)
**Honkai: Star Rail collab event not appearing / not tracking**
Season 8 includes a free Mythic Event tied to the Honkai: Star Rail collaboration. Some emulator players may see the event tab but be unable to participate.
1. Set GameLoop resolution to **1920×1080** for the event UI — at 720p, some event tap targets are outside the default keymapping zone.
2. If the event tab shows "Not eligible": verify your CODM account region. Collaboration events occasionally have soft regional restrictions on the event missions.
3. If event progress is not tracking: force-close CODM, wait 3 minutes, reopen and re-enter the event lobby. Progress is server-side and may need a sync.
solution #2065
battlepass-rewards-missing (sortOrder=13)
**Battle pass rewards missing or not updating**
1. Log out and back in — reward delivery is server-side and sometimes requires a fresh token.
2. Wait 15 minutes after purchase before assuming rewards are missing. High server load on launch day delays delivery.
3. If still missing after 1 hour: submit a ticket via the CODM in-game support menu (Profile → Settings → Support) with your transaction ID.
solution #2066
ranked-reset (sortOrder=14)
**Ranked reset / placement issues**
Ranked resets at the start of every season. Your previous rank is replaced with a placement match requirement — this is expected behaviour, not a bug.
- Your S7 rank is displayed as a badge but provides no current-season ranking.
- You must complete 5–10 placement matches (varies by mode) to receive your S8 starting rank.
- The placement matches account for your S7 performance — high S7 ranks typically result in higher placement floors.
solution #2067
voice-chat-not-working (sortOrder=15)
**Voice chat / mic not working**
1. In Windows → Settings → Privacy → Microphone, confirm GameLoop has microphone access.
2. In GameLoop → Settings → Sound → Microphone, select your active mic from the dropdown.
3. In CODM → Settings → Audio → Voice Chat, enable Push-to-Talk and assign a key.
4. Test with a bot match before a ranked match — voice chat permissions sometimes require a one-time confirmation on first use after an update.
solution #2068
squad-invite-fails (sortOrder=16)
**Can't join friends / squad invite fails**
1. Both players restart GameLoop and CODM independently.
2. Un-friend and re-add the friend in-game (the friendlist token sometimes expires across season boundaries).
3. Confirm both players are on the same server region — cross-region party invites silently fail at the matchmaking level.
solution #2069
anticheat-ban (sortOrder=17)
**Anti-cheat ban / account suspended**
Official GameLoop is whitelisted by CODM's anti-cheat. Bans on GameLoop are caused by: a modded or unofficial GameLoop build, game-modifying software (aimbots, ESP overlays), or account sharing from a flagged IP.
1. If you received an automated suspension and believe it is a false positive: submit an appeal via the official CODM support portal with your device ID and session logs.
2. Do not re-log on the banned account on any device during the suspension — this resets the appeal timer.
3. Verify you are using the official GameLoop build from gameloop.fun, not a mirror site.
solution #2070
directx-crash (sortOrder=18)
**DirectX / graphics crash after S8**
1. In GameLoop → Settings → Performance, force **DirectX 11** (not DX12 or Auto). The S8 build is stable on DX11 across most hardware.
2. Update your GPU driver: NVIDIA via GeForce Experience, AMD via AMD Software.
3. If you are using an integrated Intel GPU: switch to **OpenGL** mode in GameLoop, which has wider compatibility on integrated graphics.
solution #2071
storage-not-enough (sortOrder=19)
**Not enough storage for S8 update**
The S8 patch requires approximately 2–4 GB of temporary space above the game's installed size.
1. Check Windows drive space: open This PC and confirm ≥8 GB free on the GameLoop drive.
2. Check GameLoop's virtual disk: **Settings → System → Virtual Disk** — expand by 5 GB if above 85% usage.
3. Run Disk Cleanup on your Windows drive (search "Disk Cleanup" → select all temporary file types).
4. If on a small SSD (128 GB), move GameLoop's installation to a secondary drive with more room.
solution #2072
hurricane-nerf-adjustment (sortOrder=20)
**FSS Hurricane feels different after S8 / adjusting to the nerf**
The FSS Hurricane's sprint speed reduction is a meta shift, not a technical issue. If your muscle memory is built around sprint-and-fire timing, expect 3–5 matches of adjustment.
- Your sprint key is a discrete press (not a held thumb movement). The nerf reduces the window between sprinting and firing, but your key timing can be tightened to compensate more than a touchscreen player can.
- Alternatively, switch your main SMG to the **Fennec** (directly buffed in S8). The Fennec's engagement range is similar; it now has relatively stronger stats after the Hurricane nerf.
- For TAC mode: the S8 patch is generally favourable to emulator players — the AR buffs (Cronen Squall, Krig 6, FFAR 1) benefit the 20–50 m range where mouse aim excels.
