TAC 'Environment check not supported' error — Arena Breakout install workaround

When launching CODM through TAC, an "Environment check not supported" error appears, blocking the game from starting. The error is TAC's anti-cheat refusing to certify the emulator's runtime — usually because TAC hasn't completed its first-time environment registration with Tencent's servers.

  • The error appears at launch, before the splash screen.
  • Reinstalling CODM doesn't fix it.
  • Reinstalling TAC doesn't fix it.
  • The error wording is generic — no actionable guidance.

Per leonmaxitv1: "best to ask for environment check not supported is to go to the official TAC discord since they can help better with that... when you have installed Arena Breakout we can help."

Solutions

solution #555

Install Arena Breakout first to bootstrap TAC's environment registration. This is the canonical community workaround:

  1. Download the Arena Breakout installer for TAC (search "Arena Breakout TAC installer" — TAC's storefront ships it).
  2. Install Arena Breakout. The installer will run its own environment registration handshake with Tencent.
  3. Launch Arena Breakout once, wait until you reach the login screen.
  4. Close Arena Breakout cleanly (don't kill the process — let it exit on its own).
  5. Now launch CODM — the environment check should pass because TAC's registration is complete.

Why this works: Arena Breakout is one of the few games TAC officially supports. Its install path triggers the same anti-cheat bootstrap that CODM should trigger but doesn't, because CODM isn't officially supported on TAC yet.

solution #556

If the workaround doesn't resolve it, post on TAC's official Discord. The environment check is TAC-side, not GameLoopHub-side. Their team can issue per-account environment unlocks for users who hit edge cases the public installer doesn't cover. Search "Tenstore Android Connect official Discord" — they have a dedicated support channel for this exact error.

solution #557

Disable Windows Defender during the TAC install. Defender's real-time scan sometimes quarantines TAC's environment-registration helper before it can run, leaving the registration incomplete and the env-check endpoint reporting "not supported":

  1. Settings → Privacy & Security → Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Manage settings.
  2. Toggle Real-time protection OFF for the duration of the install.
  3. Reinstall TAC + Arena Breakout.
  4. Re-enable real-time protection after installs complete.
