CODM Season 7 Terminated Key Mapping / Keybindings Reset on GameLoop PC — Fix
After installing the CODM Season 7 Terminated update, my key mapping / keybindings on GameLoop PC are wrong — custom keys were reset to defaults, specific keys (fire, aim, jump) aren't responding, or the mouse click isn't registering in-game. I need to fix my controls.
Solutions
solution #1735
Why this happens: When a season update ships a new APK version, GameLoop sometimes invalidates the old key schema — not by deleting your binds, but by rebuilding its control layer for the new APK. Forcing a fresh save re-links your profile to the new version.
- Open GameLoop and launch CODM.
- While in the main menu (not in a match), click the keyboard icon in the top-right GameLoop toolbar.
- Your layout should appear. Even if it looks correct, click Save in the top bar to force a fresh write.
- If the layout looks wrong or empty, proceed to Fix 3 below.
This resolves about 40% of key mapping issues after a season update and takes 30 seconds.
solution #1736
Season 7 Terminated resets several in-game control profiles as part of its onboarding flow — separate from GameLoop's keyboard overlay.
- In CODM, go to Settings (gear icon) → Controls → Customize.
- Look for pink "!" warning icons on buttons — these indicate a control reset to default.
- If using the Keyboard (PC) scheme, verify fire/aim/crouch/jump assignments.
- Tap Save & Apply after making any changes.
Important: CODM and GameLoop maintain separate binding layers. A bind that exists in GameLoop's overlay but conflicts with an in-game assignment will be silently ignored. If you have two bindings for the same action, remove one.
solution #1737
If Fix 1 shows an empty or scrambled layout, the profile file is corrupt. Delete it and start fresh.
- Close CODM but leave GameLoop open.
- Click the keyboard icon in GameLoop's top toolbar.
- In the profile dropdown, click Delete All Profiles or delete the CODM-specific profile.
- Click Create New Profile — GameLoop will auto-populate a basic CODM keyboard layout.
- Customize and Save the profile before launching a match.
Common binds: Fire = Left mouse button, ADS = Right mouse button, Jump = Space, Crouch/Slide = Ctrl, Sprint = Shift.
solution #1738
If mouse clicks aren't registering in-game but keyboard keys work, GameLoop's mouse mode is likely not set to Smart.
- Open GameLoop Settings (the gear icon in the main GameLoop window, not in-game).
- Go to Controls or Mouse Settings.
- Set mouse mode to "Smart" (not "Absolute" or "Relative").
- Save and restart CODM.
Smart mode is the only mouse mode that correctly maps click events to the GameLoop touch simulation layer for CODM.
solution #1739
If controls work in the lobby but stop working mid-match, a background process is capturing keyboard input away from GameLoop.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager — look for any program with a global keyboard hook (Discord overlay, OBS Studio, NVIDIA Share/GeForce Experience, Logitech G HUB).
- Disable overlays: in Discord → Settings → Overlay → disable in-game overlay. In GeForce Experience → Settings → General → disable the Share overlay (Alt+Z).
- If you use a macro keyboard (Logitech, Razer, Corsair), close the companion software before launching CODM.
- Relaunch CODM and test in a training match before entering ranked.
