CODM Season 7 Terminated: TAC / Smart Keymap Not Working on GameLoop PC Fix (2026)
After the CODM Season 7 Terminated update on GameLoop PC, my Smart Keymap is not working, the TAC (Tactical Grenade or Tactical Map) button is missing from the keymapping overlay, or the custom keymapping I set up before S7 has been reset. In some cases the keymapping overlay fails to show buttons for new S7 equipment, or pressing the assigned key does nothing in-game.
Solutions
solution #1765
GameLoop publishes an updated Smart Keymap with every major CODM season. The S7 update moved several button positions on screen; if you are using a keymap from S6 or earlier, the TAC and other action buttons will fire at wrong coordinates and appear broken.
- Open GameLoop and launch CODM.
- Click the keyboard icon in the top-right of the GameLoop window to open the keymapping overlay.
- Click Operations (top-left of the overlay panel).
- Click Smart Keymap — then select CODM Season 7 from the list if it appears, or click Update Keymap if shown.
- If no S7 keymap is listed yet, click Restore to Default instead. This resets to GameLoop's current built-in keymap which is aligned with the installed CODM version.
- Save and test in Training mode before entering a ranked match.
This resolves TAC-grenade and other newly positioned buttons for the vast majority of players.
solution #1766
If the TAC button (tactical grenade, tactical map, or similar) is genuinely absent from the Smart Keymap overlay after the S7 update, you can add it manually without waiting for an updated Smart Keymap from GameLoop.
- Open the keymapping overlay (keyboard icon, top-right).
- Click + (Add button) in the overlay editor.
- Choose Shoot button or Skill button type (whichever matches TAC — usually "Skill").
- Drag the new button onto the screen position where the TAC icon appears in your CODM UI. You may need to enter a match or Training mode to see the exact position.
- Assign the key you want (e.g., G, Z, or any unbound key).
- Save. The button will now respond to that keypress whenever CODM displays the TAC icon in that position.
solution #1767
GameLoop caches keymapping profiles locally. A corrupted or conflicting cache after the S7 update can cause Smart Keymap to load partially or not apply at all — the overlay may show buttons that do not actually fire in-game.
- Completely exit GameLoop (system tray → Exit).
- Navigate to
C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\GameLoop(press Win+R, type%localappdata%\GameLoop, press Enter). - Find and delete the
keymappingorkeymap_cachefolder (if present). - Reopen GameLoop and reimport the Smart Keymap as described in S1.
After clearing the cache the overlay rebuilds from scratch on next launch, removing any corrupted state from previous seasons.
solution #1768
After a major update, GameLoop's Smart Keymap feature sometimes enters a state where it is technically "on" but not injecting inputs correctly. Toggling it off and on forces a re-initialization.
- While CODM is running in GameLoop, open the keymapping overlay.
- Click the Smart Keymap toggle to turn it OFF. Wait five seconds.
- Click it again to turn it ON.
- GameLoop will re-scan the CODM screen and reassign button positions.
- Test the TAC button and any other controls that were unresponsive.
solution #1769
If Smart Keymap or TAC button support is broken only after the S7 update, the issue may be on GameLoop's side — a bug that has since been patched in a newer GameLoop version. Running an outdated GameLoop build against the new CODM client can produce keymapping failures.
- Open GameLoop and look for an update notification banner at the top of the launcher, or go to Settings (gear icon) → About → Check for Update.
- Download and install the update.
- After update, relaunch CODM and check if Smart Keymap and the TAC button now work without manual intervention.
solution #1770
If all above steps fail, the CODM installation itself may be partially corrupted — a common outcome when a large seasonal update (like S7) is interrupted or installs over a broken prior state. Reinstalling CODM within GameLoop resolves keymapping issues that trace back to game-side file corruption rather than GameLoop itself.
- In GameLoop, right-click the CODM icon → Uninstall.
- Reinstall CODM from the GameLoop game center (search "Call of Duty Mobile").
- After CODM reinstalls, reimport the Smart Keymap (S1 above) before your first match.
Your CODM account data is server-side and will not be lost. Only local files are reinstalled.
