CODM Season 6 on PC — TAC + Smart Tool Complete Setup Guide

Medium4 solutions

I want to play Call of Duty: Mobile Season 6 on my PC but GameLoop isn't working. When I open CODM in GameLoop I get a version mismatch or update error that never downloads. How do I actually get CODM running on PC in Season 6?

Classic GameLoop stopped receiving CODM updates after patch 1.0.53. This is not a bug you can fix by reinstalling — Tencent migrated CODM to a different delivery system. The only working path for Season 6 is the Tencent App Store (TAC).

Install steps:

  1. Download the Tencent App Store from tac-appstore.com or gameloop.fun (navigate to the CODM section — it redirects to TAC). Avoid repackaged installers from APK aggregator sites.
  2. Run the installer (~150 MB launcher; game content downloads separately).
  3. Open Tencent App Store → search "Call of Duty: Mobile" → click Install (not "Open in GameLoop").
  4. Wait for the 3–4 GB base download. Season 6 content assets download on first launch (another 1–2 GB).

TAC does not require hardware virtualization — no VT-x/AMD-V needed, unlike BlueStacks or classic GameLoop.

Classic GameLoop still works correctly for PUBG Mobile and other Tencent games. Do not uninstall it unless CODM is the only game you play through it.

Smart Tool is TAC's built-in keyboard/mouse layer. It appears as a floating toolbar in the bottom-left of the screen when CODM launches. All key bindings live here, not inside the game.

If Smart Tool is not visible: open TAC settings (gear icon, top-right) → Controls → Smart Tool → toggle on → re-launch CODM.

Fastest setup — import a community preset:

  1. With CODM running, click the Smart Tool icon in the floating toolbar.
  2. Select Keymap → Cloud (cloud icon in the top bar).
  3. Filter by CODM → sort by Most Used → select a preset → tap Import.

Most popular S6 presets are already tuned for the Hurricane SMG and standard BR layout. You can edit any key after importing.

Common manual key assignments:

  • Move — WASD  |  Look/aim — Mouse  |  Fire — Left mouse
  • ADS — Right mouse  |  Jump — Space  |  Crouch — Shift
  • Reload — R  |  Open map — M  |  Prone — Z

Set Smart Tool sensitivity first (Keymap → Sensitivity panel), then fine-tune in-game CODM sensitivity under Settings → Controls. Starting Smart Tool at 50–60% and adjusting in-game is easier than maxing one end.

graphics-and-performance-settings-for-s6 (sortOrder=3)

In-game graphics (CODM Settings → Graphics → Frame Rate):

  • Integrated GPU (Intel UHD / AMD Vega) — 30fps or 60fps at Medium quality
  • Entry dedicated (GTX 1060 / RX 580) — 60fps at High quality
  • Mid/high (RTX 3060+ / RX 6700+) — Ultra Frame Rate (requires up-to-date GPU driver)

If Ultra Frame Rate is greyed out, update your GPU driver via GeForce Experience or AMD Software and re-launch.

TAC engine settings (TAC → your CODM listing → gear icon → Performance):

  • Resolution — 100% (native). Dropping to 75% recovers ~20–30% GPU load with minor softening.
  • GPU rendering mode — DirectX 12 on Nvidia, DirectX 11 on AMD/Intel. If CODM freezes 5–10 minutes into a match, switch to DirectX 11.
  • Background downloads — pause before launching CODM on 8 GB RAM systems to prevent stutters.

Windows tweaks:

  • Set Windows power plan to High Performance or Balanced (not Power Saver).
  • Disable Discord overlay on integrated GPUs (saves 150–200 MB VRAM): Discord Settings → Game Overlay → off.
  • Add the TAC folder to your antivirus exclusion list — real-time scanning causes mid-match frame time spikes.

login-errors-and-crash-fixes (sortOrder=4)

S6 "Retry to Connect" / "Activision ID verification failed" loop:

  1. Force re-link your Activision ID: CODM Settings → Account → Activision ID → Unlink → re-link with your credentials. Clears stale auth token.
  2. Update order matters: update TAC first, then let CODM update through TAC. Launching before TAC finishes updating causes token handshake failures.
  3. DNS fallback: if the Activision auth endpoint is blocked by ISP DNS, switch to Google DNS (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4) or Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) in Windows network settings.

CODM crashes on launch inside TAC:

  1. Update GPU driver (GeForce Experience / AMD Software).
  2. In TAC performance settings, switch GPU rendering mode to DirectX 11.
  3. Disable Windows Memory Integrity if on (Windows Security → Device Security → Core Isolation → Memory Integrity → off → reboot).
  4. Last resort: uninstall TAC fully, delete the TACStore folder from %APPDATA%, then reinstall fresh.

Progress transfer from mobile: log in with the same Activision ID, Google, or Facebook account. Full progress, skins, and Battle Pass status carry over — the PC and mobile versions share the same account.
