GameLoop / TAC error: 'Failed to start app. Please exit and try again. Error code: 1'

HighTenstore Android ConnectCall of Duty: Mobile5 solutions

When launching CODM through GameLoop / TAC or via the GameLoopHub Smart Tool, an error dialog appears:

An error occurred.

Failed to start app. Please exit and try again.

Error code: 1 (or sometimes Error code: 110110)

The dialog has a "Get Help" link and an "Exit" button. Clicking Exit and retrying produces the same dialog. Symptoms reported by multiple users:

  • Reinstalling the emulator 3 times doesn't help.
  • The error usually appears after a Windows update or a Core Isolation / registry change.
  • "It used to work yesterday and now it won't open" is the most common framing.
  • "Specs are good, gave it elevated permissions, virtualization is on, still get the dialog."

Code 1 and 110110 share the same fix sequence — both indicate Smart Tool can't complete the hypervisor / process bootstrap.

Kill all TAC processes, connect to a VPN, then relaunch. Per ӃryptønPsychø's canonical fix:

  1. Open Task Manager → Details tab.
  2. Kill every process containing "tac", "gameloop", "androidemulator", "AndrowsConnect", or similar.
  3. Or use the Smart Tool's "Close GameLoop processes" button if it's still functional.
  4. Connect to a VPN — US server preferred.
  5. Relaunch the emulator via the Smart Tool, not directly.

Disable Memory Integrity if Code 1 appeared after a Core Isolation toggle. Settings → Privacy & Security → Windows Security → Device Security → Core Isolation → toggle Memory Integrity OFF → reboot. See our installer Hyper-V loop guide for context on why VBS interferes.

Disable "Super Resolution" in graphics experimental settings. Open the emulator (or its settings panel directly), find the graphics → experimental settings → toggle Super Resolution OFF. This fix resolves Code 1 for users whose error appeared after updating GPU drivers.

Clean reinstall using Revo Uninstaller. Default Windows uninstall leaves leftover game files. Use Revo Uninstaller in advanced mode, reboot, and install fresh.

Always launch through the Smart Tool, never directly. Direct CODM shortcut launches reproduce Code 1 reliably for some configurations because they skip Smart Tool's environment prep (FPS apply, keymap apply, cache restore) that the new TAC build expects to see.
